There are a wide range activities throughout the year that are specifically for individuals with disabilities or are considered inclusive programming. In addition, many activities that typical individuals enjoy are terrific for those with Down syndrome. These programs and events are not sanctioned by the Down Syndrome Association of South Texas.
Summer Programs – A list of summer programs for individuals with disabilities. This document is always “a work in progress”. Kinetic Kids – “By providing sports and recreation programs not typically available to children with special needs, we intend to foster the development of courage, self esteem, pride and joy so these children can achieve new possibilities previously unimaginable.”
San Antonio Parks and Recreation Adaptive Sports Program - The Adapted Sports & Recreation Program provides recreational programs and adapted sports activities for both youth and adults with physical and intellectual challenges. The program strives to increase social opportunities, help individuals function as independent as possible in a recreational activity, and to develop a higher level of physical, mental and emotional well being.
